Before school started, we went to Port Aransas with a great group of families all that we have meet while having children attend NPDS. We visited the Lexington, had the first of what I hope to many consecutive beach olympics, built sand castles, went to shell island, rode the pirate ship with the touch tank and played for hours on end in the water. I was lucky enough to have Denee' help me out with the kids the first few days while John was working and he joined us Friday evening for the rest of the weekend.
Brenda took pictures one morning on the beach and I used my favorite one for Christmas cards this year. And yes - Berkeley honestly loves her brothers that much. I knew having a girl would bring so much new into my life but I had no idea how much I would enjoy watching the boys take care of her and always always put her first. She thinks they hung the moon and I hope it stays that way a little longer.
And it continues - August was Hudson's 9th birthday and he wanted a boys bowling party with a cookie cake. We had family birthday dinner at Chuy's so he could also get another favorite - enchiladas. He got a shot gun for his birthday so he could go bird hunting with his dad.
August was the start of school for the boys and little bit was back at NPDS. My favorite is alway new backpacks and kicks. Hudson has Mrs. Peavler for 4th and Cortland has Mrs. Matthews for 1st. It is great having them at the same school. Cortland was super excited because this was his first time to ride the bus. We live too close to the elementary for the boys to ride the bus in the morning but the school district has a bus that takes all teachers kids from their campus to their parents campus after school each day. Hudson and Cortland love riding to the junior school each afternoon where John is teaching and I can pick them up from there.
